STUDY DESCRIPTION

12% of survey complete.
Dr. Jason Lucas, with the assistance of graduate student researcher Sai Sri Neeharika Vijayarao, of the Construction Science and Management department at Clemson University is conducting a study titled “Identifying Factors that Affect User Confidence in BIM Accuracy." The purpose of this research is to develop an understanding of how to elicit more trust in the accuracy of a Building Information model, specifically related to its use in automated processes when it was authored by someone else.

You are invited to participate in this study. Data is being collected from various professionals who utilize BIM in planning and/or managing construction projects. This study should take 10-15 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous unless if you voluntarily share your contact information to participate in future studies related to this research project. Contact information will be kept confidential among the research team.

Risks and Discomforts
There are no known economic, legal, physical, psychological, or social risks associated with your participation in this study beyond the inconvenience of time.

Possible Benefits
We do not know of any way you would benefit directly from taking part in this study. However, this research may help us to understand variables that drive user’s trust in the information obtained from BIM. With these factors identified, necessary steps can be taken to increase the efficiency and usability of said software.

Consent and Confidentiality
Your decision to participate in this study is entirely voluntary. By completing the survey, you are implying consent to participate in this study.
