REAL Resiliency Training

REAL (Redefining Empowerment through Accountability and Learning) Resiliency is a skills and knowledge building program for middle and high school youth that offers workshops focused on supporting young people navigate challenges in their lives, families, schools, and communities. REAL Resiliency is focused on equipping young people with tools to avoid structural inequities in our society, like the criminal justice system, by building community, developing critical thinking, and visioning for a healthier and successful future.

*PLEASE NOTE: This training is only for adults over 18 and out of high school*
*This is a training specifically for folks interested in facilitating for REAL Resiliency, a program that requires availability during Thursday evenings, Saturday mornings, and flexibility on weekday evenings *

The training provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills that are needed when working with youth through the REAL Resiliency program. REAL Resiliency facilitators are paid for their time and facilitation. 

This is a dynamic program packed with helpful strategies, techniques, tools and insights. Here is what a participant can expect:
• Opportunities to practice facilitating REAL Resiliency curriculum (and other related skills).
• Interactive learning – including role-playing, experience-based testimonies from past facilitators and assessments.
• In-depth exploration of social justice issues impacting diverse youth in schools (including school-to-prison pipeline and the prison industrial complex)
• Strategies for handling resistance and conflict.
• Helpful resources and reference materials.

The training will be held the following dates:
February 1, 2020 9:00 am-5:00 pm
February 8, 2020 9:00 am-5:00 pm
February 15, 2020 9:00 am-5:00 pm

Light breakfast and lunch will be provided each day.
