The Restoring Rights and Opportunities Coalition of Illinois (RROCI) is a coalition of leaders directly impacted by the criminal system, community organizers, attorneys and policy specialists that fight to change the laws affecting people with criminal records. The following organizations make up RROCI: Cabrini Green Legal Aid, Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, Community Renewal Society and Heartland Alliance.
RROCI is conducting surveys to determine our legislative agenda for the upcoming legislative session. Two years ago, RROCI conducted a survey to assess the barriers that people with past criminal records face in society. The two main issues that surfaced were employment and housing. With this new survey we want to dive deeper into those issues, as well as issues faced if you were incarcerated. You will be provided an opportunity to note any issues that are not contained in this survey at the end.
Your answers will be kept confidential and will be used to help determine the focus of change efforts to address an unjust criminal system and ultimately improve the lives of people in Illinois.
