Nominate a Woman for the Academy of Women

Please utilize this form to nominate an adult woman (18 or older) for the YWCA Academy of Women awards.  Please use the designated forms for the Rising Phenomenal Woman award (an award specifically geared to young women age 30 or under) and the Business of Achievement Award. 
 
Criteria:

  • Please note nominations are invited from organizations, institutions, businesses, professionals, civic groups, and individuals.
  • YWCA Board Members, Committee Members, Staff and past Women of Achievement Recipients are not eligible for this award.
  • Past WOA nominees are eligible to be nominated again.
  • Nominees must reside in the YWCA of Central Virginia's service area which includes the City of Lynchburg and the Counties of Appomattox, Amherst, Bedford, Campbell, Nelson and Pittsylvania Counties.
  • The nominee must show great professionalism or volunteer achievement and leadership skills.
  • She should generate high impact in Central Virginia due to her efforts. She shows passion for a cause through her activities. Nominee excels professional or in her academic pursuits, is highly respected and is a role model for others.
  • She exemplifies the YWCA's mission to eliminate racism and empower women in her professional/academic life, as well as her personal life.
