Grant Application to Attend 2017 Resource Recycling Conference

The Recycling Partnership, in association with Resource Recycling, Inc., is pleased to announce the second annual Steve Thompson Memorial Grant, offering free travel, accommodation and registration for the 2017 Resource Recycling Conference.

Recycling industry leader, Steve Thompson, was a committed recycling champion who worked hard to move the industry forward and, for the second year in a row, The Recycling Partnership and Resource Recycling, Inc. are honoring him and his life’s work by offering grants to recycling professionals to travel to and attend the 2017 Resource Recycling Conference for free.

The Recycling Partnership is investing $50,000 to offer grants to recycling professionals from local, state, national or collegiate programs from across the U.S. to learn and share program best practices, tips and research to improve recycling programs and deliver more and better recycling to all citizens.

The grants will come in the form of complimentary conference registration and two-night host hotel stay plus a travel reimbursement of up to $400.

Deadline: Midnight EST, June 26, 2017.

Email Dylan de Thomas (ddethomas@recyclingpartnership.org) with any questions about the grant program.

The Details:
Applications are due by midnight EST, June 26, 2017 via this online application. The Recycling Partnership will select and notify the grantees no later than July 12, 2017. The travel portion of each grant will be approved by Partnership staff and reimbursed via check post-event. The two-night hotel stay will be at the host hotel Hyatt Regency Minneapolis for the nights of Aug. 28 and 29. The complimentary conference registration does not include separate, collocated workshops that incur a separate fee.

Following the conference, all award winners will be asked to submit a brief summary of their experiences and how they plan to use newfound insights to improve their local recycling programs.
