- September 15-16, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Wenatchee, WA – Chelan Douglas Child Services Association, AJR, 13505 Kittitas St. Wenatchee, WA 98801 (please bring your own laptop!)
- October 3-4, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Spokane, WA – ESD 101, Computer Lab, 4202 S Regal St, Spokane, WA 99223

This introductory training is for staff new to Teaching Strategies GOLD®. ECEAP lead teachers, assistant teachers are encouraged to register. Priority registration is given to ECEAP lead teachers. This training is free and available to ECEAP contractors.
What?
Participants will receive a comprehensive overview of this research-based assessment system. Topics include:
Observing and assessing children’s learning and development in the classroom.
Assessing English-language learners and children with disabilities.
Understanding the color-coded bands tied to widely-held expectations for children birth through kindergarten.
Using GOLD® to plan curriculum and classroom strategies.
Using GOLD® online.
What to bring?
Participants need to bring:
o Their own laptop to this training if attending in Wenatchee.
o Teaching Strategies GOLD® online username and password. Prior to the training, please log on and confirm that both are working. If you do not have a username and password, you will receive a temporary one.
o Teaching Strategies GOLD® Objectives for Development and Learning book.

If you would like to apply for the college credit with Centralia College, please bring a check or money order for $18.00 to this training. The trainer cannot accept cash! The college credit form has to be filled out at the training and will be mailed to the college by our trainer.
Travel Costs:
DEL will reimburse part of the travel costs to support your attendance at this event. Your agency may choose to reimburse the remaining costs. DEL will pay:
· Round trip mileage at 0.540 cents per mile. Please car-pool when possible and document your mileage (GoogleMap/Mapquest print out).
· Airfare, and up to $35 per day towards the costs for a rental car between the airport and the meeting site. DEL cannot reimburse for rental car insurance, GPS, or other optional costs.
· One night’s lodging at state per diem rate if travelling over 50 miles one way, or two night’s lodging at state per diem rate if travelling more than 100 miles one way. You must make your own hotel reservations. The travel distance is calculated from your home or workplace, whichever is closer to the meeting site.
Reimbursement forms must be completed at the event. Please bring your hotel, air and rental car receipts, as well as a GoogleMap or Mapquest print-out of your route.
Parking:
Recommend carpooling.
