Regional Artist Residency EOI 2025

Expression of Interest Now Open!

Performing Lines TAS Regional Artist Residency
The Performing Lines TAS Regional Artist Residency is a three-day, two-night program designed to foster a supportive and stimulating environment for artists to test new ideas, explore cross-disciplinary collaborations, and develop their practice.

In 2025 the residency will be at Giants' Table and Cottages, Maydena

Participants will benefit from the guidance of experienced mentors from across Australia, who bring diverse perspectives to support project development and artistic exploration.

Residency Highlights Include:

· Project presentation sessions with facilitated group discussions

· Tailored mentorship through both group and one-on-one sessions

· Optional morning warm-up activities

· Informal networking opportunities and practical skills workshops

· Provided accommodation, transport, and evening meals

This residency offers artists time, space, and expert support to deepen their creative inquiry and connect with peers in a collaborative setting.

2025 DATES

The residency will run from Fri 7- Sun 9 Nov 2025
Applications close: 11:59pm 24 Jul 2025
Successful applicants notified: Mon 4 Aug 2025

Expressions of interest will be assessed by a curatorial panel, with consideration given to the calibre of the artist(s), the strength of the proposed idea, and a range of balancing factors such as art form, geographic diversity, and experience level. This process aims to ensure a dynamic and inspiring mix of participants for the weekend. Both individual artists and groups are welcome to apply. Please note that for group applications, a higher contribution will be required from each additional artist.

Although the residency is largely subsidised, each accepted applicant will need to make a small deposit to cover part of the weekend’s expenses. The difference will be fully refunded after attending the residency and completing the debrief survey.

For further information regarding costs or unsure if the residency is for you, please email nicole@performinglinestas.org.au

Guidance for Applicants
Please adhere to the recommended word counts when preparing your Expression of Interest (EOI). Submissions that are too brief may not provide sufficient information for assessment, while those exceeding the word limit will be cut-off before reaching the selection panel.
