Call for Session Proposals (RFP)

The Apartment Association of North Carolina (AANC) is excited to introduce Maintenance Day at the 2027 CONNECTed Conference, taking place on Tuesday, May 18.

We are currently seeking session proposals for a dedicated hands-on learning block from 10:35 AM – 12:35 PM, featuring interactive micro-sessions led by industry partners directly on the trade show floor.

We are seeking engaging, practical session ideas that provide real-world value to maintenance professionals.

Session Overview
  • Format: Hands-on / interactive micro-session (not lecture style)
  • Length: 20 minutes per session (repeated five times)
  • Audience Size: Up to 10 participants per session
  • Location: Trade show floor (booth-based or designated area)
  • Compensation: This is a volunteer (unpaid) opportunity
What We’re Looking For:
  • Hands-on or demonstration-based learning
  • Clear, actionable takeaways
  • Topics relevant to maintenance professionals
  • Creative or unique approaches not typically seen in traditional sessions
Examples might include:
  • HVAC troubleshooting
  • Electrical basics
  • Smart home technology
  • Maintenance best practices
  • Tools, safety, or efficiency techniques
Important Notes
  • Sessions must be safe and appropriate for an indoor event space
  • Open flames, hazardous materials, or unsafe demonstrations will not be permitted
  • Final session selection will be based on content quality, feasibility, and overall program balance

  • RFP Opens: August 1, 2026
  • Submission Deadline: October 15, 2026
  • Notifications Sent: Late Fall 2026
