The Washtenaw County Homeland Security Task Force is sponsoring two one-day Emergency Management of Radiation Accident Victims courses on October 8, 2013 and October 9, 2013.

The course is open to first responders, hospital/medical professionals and emergency planning personnel. This program will train participants about effective management and handling of irradiated or contaminated patients as a result of a radiological incident. Topics will include an introduction to ionizing radiation, radiation protection, instrumentation, decontamination, medical management of radiation injuries, and management of mass casualties.

Cost of tuition and supplies are covered by the Homeland Security Task Force. Backfill and overtime reimbursement is not available.
