Danger Close: Battle of Long Tan - MA - Drama / Action (118 MIns)
Late afternoon August 18, 1966 South Vietnam - for three and a half hours, in the pouring rain, amid the mud and shattered trees of a rubber plantation called Long Tan, Major Harry Smith (Travis Fimmel) and his dispersed company of 108 young and mostly inexperienced Australian and New Zealand soldiers are fighting for their lives, holding off an overwhelming force of 2,000 battle-hardened Viet Cong and North Vietnamese soldiers. With their ammunition running out, their casualties mounting and the enemy massing for a final assault each man begins to search for his own answer, and the strength to triumph over an uncertain future with honour, decency and courage.
The Battle of Long Tan is one of the most savage and decisive engagements in ANZAC history, earning both the United States and South Vietnamese Presidential Unit citations for gallantry along with many individual awards.
A significant event in Australian history, this is a must see movie experience.

Palm Beach - M - Drama / Comedy - (97 Mins)
Palm Beach centres on a group of lifelong friends reuniting to celebrate a milstone birthday, with Sydney's iconic Palm Beach providing a stunning backdrop for the unfolding drama.
Bryan Brown stars as Frank, a successful Music Manager turned businessman who is at the centre of the celebrations.  Frank flies in his oldest friends (Sam Neil, Richard E Grant) and their wives to recognise the milestone event and reminisce about the old days. The good times roll, with loads of laughter, lavish meals, flowing wine and fantastic music, but slowly tensions mount and deep secrets arise.  Cracks appear and issues from decades ago look set to spoil the party and several relationships as well.
Palm Beach provides plenty of laughs and opportunities for reflection all within its hour and half. Definitely a film for friends to share so bring someone along so you can discuss afterwards.

Although Spidey didn't make the cut in last month's survey he did well enough to deserve a second chance here.
