Originally created by BCEdAccess Society in British Columbia in 2018, the National Exclusion Tracker is now led by the Family Support Institute of BC in partnership with Inclusive Education Canada and provincial and territorial partners.
This survey is intended for the use of parents and other primary caregivers of children and youth reporting an exclusion from an early learning, child care, or out-of-school care program, including child care centres, family child care, preschools, before- or after-school care programs, and other out-of-school care. A separate survey is available for exclusion from K–12 education.
This survey defines exclusion as instances where a child or youth is not allowed or able to participate meaningfully, including being denied admission, sent home, having reduced hours, being excluded from activities, experiencing seclusion or restraint, losing their placement, or other situations where they cannot fully access or participate in an early learning, child care, or out-of-school care program.
