Irrigation Management Award Entry Form guidelines

Entry deadline - July 15, 2021
Entries submitted in this category should be for a project demonstrating superior water savings as a result of making irrigation efficiency upgrades and landscape changes. A well-maintained irrigation system reduces water runoff, excessive irrigation and minimizes erosion from applied water. 

Typical entries include a renovation of an existing residential or commercial property to include the irrigation system, or construction of a new property including irrigation system. Entries must be able to provide data on water conservation.

All current, regular ALCC member companies are eligible to enter into this category. Must be a current member with a membership expiration date of June 30, 2021.
 
Entry guidelines and procedures
  • Select a project you believe merits the award for this category.
  • Show an example of a problem you solved using technology and practical applications to save water.
  • You must have 2-3 years of historical data and at least 2 years of data post changes/upgrades; electrical/water bills.
  • You must analyze and give a summary of the data prior to changes/upgrades, recommendations to solve the problem and the end result.
  • Consumption data is to be normalized for weather.
  • You must still hold the contract for this account.
  • Complete the entry form on the following pages. You will be able to return to the form if you are not able to complete your entry in one sitting. Please note, you will need to use the same device in order to access your saved entry form.
  • The majority of the work done on the project (50% or more) must be completed by the company submitting this entry form. If two companies are submitting an entry jointly, they must both be ALCC members.
  • You will be asked to submit no more than 12 color photos that demonstrate the project. Your entry is not considered complete until your photos are submitted.
  • Each entry must include a signature of release. Photos and video become the property of ALCC. ALCC reserves the right to utilize all submitted photos for the awards program and/or other promotional and publicity purposes. ALCC accepts no responsibility for copyrights or photogenic fees.
  • Please note, if your project is selected as a finalist in this category, you will be asked to provide photo credits.
  • Your entry is not complete until you submit the entry fee of $150. Pay entry fee now (link will open in new window).
Judging criteria
Your entry will be judged on the following:
  • Overall decrease in consumption in gallons.
  • Percentage change of consumption in gallons.
  • Anticipated payback as a result of the changes made (monetary value).
  • Estimated ROI for project.
