The Kinship Families Coalition of Kentucky is working with Casey Family Programs and Kentucky Youth Advocates to conduct a survey to help kinship families connect with critical resources across the Commonwealth.  We aim to raise awareness of the unique needs and challenges faced by kinship caregivers and advocates to ensure that kinship families are better supported.

Kinship or fictive kin caregivers are grandparents, other relatives or close family friends who step in to care for a child when their parents are not able to care for them. This can be a temporary or permanent situation for families.

Your information will remain confidential and anonymous and will be extremely helpful in creating one database that you and others may access online.  It will also provide insight into the needs and barriers you face as you navigate being a kinship care provider.  We will compile the information and give a report to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) and the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) so that they can better serve you.  Thank you for taking the time to share this important information so that we can help all kinship families in Kentucky.
