Share your Medicaid and/or SNAP story

In 2025, Congress passed and President Trump signed legislation that includes new and expanded work reporting requirements and other federal funding cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, two lifeline programs for people in recovery and reentry. These programs ensure access to health care, including substance use disorder treatment and mental health services, and basic needs like food assistance, which are essential supports for long-term recovery and successful reentry post-incarceration.

As states across the country work to implement this new law and various policy changes go into effect, it's crucial for policymakers to understand the human impact of these changes. We invite you to share how changes to Medicaid and/or SNAP are impacting you or someone you know. Your stories are crucial in fueling our ongoing advocacy efforts to minimize the harm of this new law.
