About this Survey

Health professionals have a depth of experience working with people with impaired decision making ability in the process of making important healthcare decisions.

People with impaired decision making ability need additional support to make decisions including decisions about their healthcare.

ADACAS want to find out about the experience and role of health professionals in the ACT with the decision making process for people with impaired decision making ability.

Throughout this survey we use the phrase ‘people with impaired decision making ability’. This phrase includes, but is not limited to, people with intellectual impairment, or dementia, people experiencing mental ill health or people with an acquired brain injury. It also refers to people whose decision making ability may not be recognised by others.
