FGSSC Program Coordinators

The Program Coordinator works with the First-Generation Center to develop programs with the first-generation coaching team to support the center's student participants navigate both their academic and social life at Salem State University. The application link to apply is at the bottom of this page.
Program Coordinators represent the RISE Program and university in a positive manner while working in the First-Generation Student Success Center (FGSSC). Program Coordinators will assist in managing the FGSSC, including providing guidance to students seeking assistance in the First-Generation Center, and providing guidance and support to Office Assistants in their tasks. Coordinators will also provide support for a variety of projects dedicated to first-generation learners, including advertising events, scheduling appointments, and other administrative duties as required.

Interviews will be on a rolling process until the positions are filled. You will be contacted to set up an individual interview.

Must be a current, full-time undergraduate student at Salem State University when applying and working

Must have a minimum cumulative and semester grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 and remain in good academic standing

Must be able to work in the FGSSC office during the academic year, Monday - Fridays, during normal business hours 8:30am - 5pm

Must agree to participate in all required training activities

If offered the position, must participate as a member of the O-Team at the start of the Fall semester (the 3-5 days prior to classes starting) to help lead First Year Day of Service. (Please reach out if you are also an RA and for information on early move-in).

Must be able to work 2-3 Saturdays or Sundays through the year for Open House / Accepted Student Days

Must be able to attend some of the RISE meetings and events (dates to be decided according to your schedule and availability)
