Instructions for RISCA Strategic Plan Feedback:

You can see the draft Strategic Plan here (link). There are several components to the Strategic Plan: mission, vision, values statement, goals, and objectives. The mission articulates what we do, while the vision articulates our aspirations as an agency. The most critical element is our values statement, which will function as the lense through which we view all our work. The goals (fund, advance, etc.) are the ways in which we accomplish those values, while the objectives get even more specific.

The mission, vision, and values statement are the backbone pieces of the strategic plan that will determine our overall direction and effect our goals and objectives, which is why we ask for your feedback most about those. The goals are concrete and felt “evergreen” from our last plan, which is why we ask the least about these in the survey. Lastly, we have fewer questions about objectives for the sake of brevity – but, if you feel you have more to say about them, consider attending a live Zoom call, community listening session, or emailing RISCA Executive Director Randall Rosenbaum at randall.rosenbaum@arts.ri.gov.

You might ask, what tangible actions fall under objectives? By aligning all RISCA programming to the values statement our work will become our action plan to meet our objectives. Specifics are being and will be determined over time through continued conversation with the public (see goal #4!). In this moment, we want to ensure we have the strongest structure in place.
