Resident Input Survey: An Environmental Action Plan for College Park

Thank you for taking the time to provide input on local issues! The College Park Committee for a Better Environment is creating an Environmental Action Plan to help the City build on its efforts to create a greener city that benefits all residents. We're reaching out to people across College Park for your input.

Please use the questions below to tell us what you think the City of College Park should do to make it a greener and better place to live.

Here are some highlights about City operations:

Energy audits and retrofits were conducted on three City-owned buildings in 2015, leading to installation of solar panels and structural energy efficiency upgrades.
The City owns 17 electric and hybrid vehicles, which produce less air pollution.
To improve pedestrian and biking infrastructure, the City built four new sidewalk segments in 2025, with eight more planned.

And here are some highlights about programs for residents and businesses:

Through a free curbside food scrap pickup program, over 265 tons of residents' food scraps have been composted (and eventually sold to farmers) instead of going to landfills.
College Park residents can request for a professional to plant a tree in their yard for free.
College Park residents can get money back for purchasing electric and manual lawn care equipment.
