Apply for ART@SC24: Survey to Assess Interest and Eligibility (International candidates)

Please respond by April 30, 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by May 30.

Survey feedback will help us plan an event surrounding the Supercomputing Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, November 15-22 (Nov. 15-16 is the pre-conference workshop, and SC runs Nov. 17-22).

Applications are welcome from international professionals who work in RCD careers who actively support HPC systems, those who use HPC, in academia, industry or government labs and those who conduct outreach to K-20 communities in underserved regions. Applicants from SADC and/or HPC Ecosystems affiliations whose employers can support their long-haul flights, taxes on donated Airlink flights, visa fees and travel insurance will be favored, as will applications from female delegates who meet all other criteria. If applicants plan to apply for travel support, they MUST be able to secure a visa by July 15, 2024. (this is necessary due to bottlenecks in the visa process). If you are approved, you must submit your visa prior to July 15, 2024. If you haven't received a visa by then, we must revoke the offer and redistribute the award to the next person on the waitlist.
1.Are you interested in attending SC (willing to travel, can get a US visa in time, have release time from your employer), and have financial support for your flight (to Atlanta - US from your home destination)?

If your employer can cover the cost of your long-haul flight, short flights (or taxes on donated Airlink flights - destinations they serve), thanks to Google's generosity, STEM-Trek has support for lodging, per diem and incidental costs for a limited number (subject to review/selection process). Funds for a limited number of SC24 registrations are available, and some full tech program (workshops and tutorials included) SC24 registrations were donated by the conference general chair.
2.Please let us know who you are: Name, country (or state in the US), employer, and email address.
3.BUDGET:

Please provide an itemized budget of anticipated expenses including transportation, lodging and per diem (US GSA Rate for Atlanta). Also, indicate whether or not your employer will cover the cost of your flight, travel insurance and visa.

As limited funds allow, ART@SC24 will cover costs but those who provide their own flight/visa/insurance will be favored. Proof of insurance must be provided.

If you are granted a full registration (workshops and tutorials), and participant support, you are expected to participate in the full conference and pre-conference workshop. All who accept participant support are required to pay-it-forward by blogging for STEM-Trek, or by hosting a workshop at home (and blogging about it for STEM-Trek). Blogs are required if you are to be considered for support in the future. Those who have blogged in the past are favored for reconsideration each year. Many thanks for your blogs! We appreciate them. Blogs about the activity will be accepted within three months after the conference.
