INFORMED CONSENT FORM

INTRODUCTION
The title of this research study is Real Estate Sales Managers’ Use of Culture to Attract and Retain Sales Agents.
 
I am Lovie Verser, a doctoral student under the supervision of Dr. Evelyn Knowles, Dissertation Chair in the College of Doctoral Studies at Grand Canyon University. The purpose of this study is to explore how real estate sales managers describe their use of cultural artifacts, cultural behaviors, and culturally espoused values to attract and retain sales agents in real estate firms in Texas.

This document defines the terms and conditions for consenting to participate in this research study.

How do I know if I can be in this study?
You can participate in this study if you (Inclusion criteria):
  • Are a licensed Texas REALTOR®
  • Are a Broker/Sales Manager in a real estate firm managing
  • sales agents for two years or more
  • Are able to share at least one photo from your brokerage. It can be a training event, awards ceremony, or team-building event that best shows the organizational culture
  • Are able to participate in a one-on-one interview on Zoom or phone call with audio recorded
  • Exclusions involve Real Estate Sales Managers who do not meet the criteria above

You cannot participate in this study if you (Exclusion criteria):
  • Are not a licensed Texas REALTOR®
  • Are not a Broker/Sales Manager in a real estate firm managing sales agents for two years or more.
  • Are not able to share at least one photo from your brokerage. It can be a training event, awards ceremony, or team-building event that best shows the organizational culture
  • Are not able to participate in a one-on-one interview on Zoom or phone call with audio recorded
  • Exclusions involve Real Estate Managers who do not meet the inclusion criteria 

What am I being asked to do?
If you agree to be in this study, you will be asked to:
  • Answer optional personal identifiable demographic questions related to size of brokerage. The number of years in real estate. The number of brokerages you have worked in. The number of sales agents managed. The number of years as a manager. Your level of education, age, and gender (about 2 minutes)
  • Share at least one photo from your brokerage. It can be of a training event, awards ceremony, or team-building event that best shows the organizational culture (about 3 mins)
  • Participate in a one-on-one interview on Zoom or phone call with audio recorded (about 45-60 minutes)
When?
The recruiting and interviewing activities will take place between January 2023–February 2023.
Where?
The interviews will take place on Zoom or phone call that is audio recorded.
How?
The data will be collected via semi-structured interviews on Zoom or phone calls. Participants will provide photo artifacts for the second data source.
