The purpose of this is survey is to collect feedback from teachers, parents and families.

Wrangell Public Schools is developing its Smart Start plan with guidance from the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development. The school will be following the state guidelines and incorporating recommended protocols and educational information from the CDC in its plan to the maximum degree possible to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students, faculty, and administrators. Please note that the district’s plan includes modifications for low, medium, and high-risk situations that may arise during the pandemic. Administrators will be working with local health officials to determine the current level of risk. At its discretion, the district may opt to amend the plan to address the risks at the present time.

The survey will aid in the progressive development of the Wrangell Public Schools Smart Start Plan for the 2020-21 school year. This survey has been coupled with a town hall meeting that allows for a more open forum for information sharing and questioning. As necessary, the district may release additional surveys or hold subsequent town hall meetings to gather further information from stakeholders.

Teachers who are also parents should submit two separate surveys from each perspective. Likewise, parents who have children enrolled in more than one school within the district should complete a survey for each school. If more than one child is enrolled in one of the schools within the district one survey will suffice unless the needs are different from the perspective of the parent.
