The purpose of the research is to explore your motivations for officiating, so you can help put in place better systems to recruit and retain young officials in sport. You will be asked to answer questions that are about your initial motivation/s for officiating, and your experiences as an official aged between 14 and 20.
The research is being conducted as part of a project called “REFS” which is funded by the European Union. You have been selected to take part in this survey because you are a young sport official. Your participation in the survey is voluntary, and you can opt out at any stage by closing and exiting the browser. If you are happy to take part, please answer the following questions relating to your motivations for officiating, and your experiences when officiating. Your answers will help us to better understand the motivations and experiences of young sport officials in Europe.
The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete, and you can seek help from an adult if needed.
Your answers will be treated confidentially and the information you provide will be kept anonymous in any research outputs/publications.

Thank you for taking the time to participate in this survey. Your help is very much appreciated.
