A panel of judges from the community will select three finalists from each category. The finalists in each category will be announced in mid-December.

Finalists MUST be available to attend the Community Awards Gala on February 3, 2024.

A winner from each category will be announced at the awards gala.

Citizen of the Year - An individual who has made a significant contribution to the health or prosperity of the community, including a legacy of good works, especially during the past year.

Educator of the Year: Recognizes a teacher, coach, or educational staff member employed by a school in Port Angeles (public or private) who has risen above the expectations of the job and made a significant impact in the lives of students in grade levels K-12.

Young Leader of the Year: Awarded to an individual, age 18-39, who exemplifies a commitment to the health and future of our community. This award recognizes exceptional leadership, good works, community service, including acts that go far above and beyond a job in community service.

Business of the Year: Awarded to the business, large or small, that has shown consistent excellence as an employer, contributed to the community beyond the profit motive of the business, and has been a recognized contributor over the past year to the general prosperity and well-being of our community.

Organization of the Year: Recognizes the non-profit, church, agency, or community service club that has demonstrated an exceptional achievement of its mission, consistently improving quality of life in our community,, especially over the past year.

Emerging Business of the Year: Recognizes a business open from one to four years, OR has been significantly reinvented with a change in business model, location, and/or business expansion within that time. Emerging Business should fill a significantly unmet need or market, revitalize an area, or contribute altruistically beyond the mission or profit motive of the business.
