The Barnstable County Department of Human Services conducted a Youth Behavioral Health Baseline Needs Assessment completed in 2024. The report tells us that social isolation and feeling disconnected from peers and the community were identified by young people as having a significant negative impact on their mental health. In response to this finding, we have convened a Youth Gathering Spaces Task Group who developed a survey to learn more. We plan to use your feedback to promote the need for more youth gathering spaces.
