Rowan County Public Health is seeking community feedback to guide decisions on how to invest opioid settlement funds in our community. These funds provide a unique opportunity to address the impacts of substance use disorder through prevention, treatment, recovery support, and other evidence-based strategies.
By participating in a focus group, you will
share your perspectives, discuss community needs, and help identify priorities for future investments.
Focus group sessions will last approximately
90 minutes. Participants are asked to
attend only one session and review the background information provided before the meeting.
As part of this process, participants will provide feedback on two approaches to investing opioid settlement funds in Rowan County.
Option A focuses on a targeted set of high-impact strategies proven to address opioid use disorder, including addiction treatment, recovery support services, naloxone distribution, early intervention, recovery housing, and programs that connect people to care and support successful recovery.
Option B provides a broader range of allowable investment opportunities, including treatment and recovery services, prevention and education programs, harm reduction efforts, support for justice-involved individuals and families, workforce development, planning and coordination activities, and research initiatives.
Participants are encouraged to review the
background materials on both options before attending their selected focus group. Your feedback will help inform recommendations for how opioid settlement funds can best address the needs of Rowan County residents.
