The Research Coordination Networks for Undergraduate Biology Education (RCN-UBE) program will support groups of investigators to communicate and coordinate their efforts across disciplinary, organizational, institutional, geographical, and/or international boundaries. The objectives are to facilitate exchange of information and resources, to integrate research and education activities for biologists/educators around topics of common interest, to nurture a sense of community, to minimize isolation, and to maximize cooperation. The theme of an RCN-UBE proposal can be any topic likely to advance fields and create novel directions and opportunities in biology education and research.

A few examples include:
incorporating; authentic research experiences in undergraduate courses, with an emphasis on introductory and lower division courses; emerging sub-disciplines into the biology curriculum (e.g., informatics research, proteomics, statistics, systems biology, and computational biology); novel interdisciplinary training in the curriculum; strategies for engaging biology faculty and graduate students in professional development activities; and engagement of underrepresented and underserved students to broaden participation.

The RCN-UBE program will hold questions-and-answers sessions on Thursday, 15 October at 3:00 p.m. EDT and Friday, 16 October at noon EDT. If you have a question or questions about the program that you would like answered during the sessions, please put it/them in the text box below. Note that your response won't be recorded until you click the "Submit!" button at the bottom of the page.
