The Rapid City Community Development Department is preparing an Affordable Housing Policy Resolution for the Planning Commission and City Council. This policy will suggest a variety of potential code amendments for qualified projects that will reduce barriers to housing diversity, promote preservation of existing affordable housing stock, and encourage the development of new affordable housing units in Rapid City. The phrase affordable housing is used very generally in this context to mean housing that typically costs less than 30% of gross family income, including utilities.

Your input is requested on a range of possible code amendments. The data collected from this survey will be included in summary report to the Planning Commission and City Council. Answers will be kept anonymous. Thank for your sharing your comments and suggestions.
