Friday Feature - May 22 - Rotarian Dr. Ira Helfand

The Rotary Action Group for Peace, an advisory group to Rotary International,  appointed nine members as Civil Society Observers to the United Nations Nuclear Nonproliferation Review 2020.   This program was originally scheduled for two side events.  It is combined here to give a platform for Rotarian Dr. Ira Helfand, twice winner of the Nobel Prize for Peace  for his work on nuclear weapons abolition.   Several Rotary Districts from US, India, and Canada, are hosting this event on zoom.  Following the presentation by Dr. Helfand, there will be time for questions by the audience.  In the second hour, several other activists will talk and lead discussion about how Rotarians can engage and  support the Back from the Brink, a program to move the world away from the danger of nuclear war.

This event welcomes Rotary Districts and Clubs, and members of the Rotary family; and all NPT Review 2020 delegates and civil society observers.  Other members of the UN community are welcome.
