As part of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities reform Local Authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG’s are responsible for health services in local areas) must ensure that parent carers and young people with disabilities or additional needs have access to impartial information, advice and support.
Shropshire Council have asked PACC to work with them to design the specification for this new service to ensure that it reflects parent’s views.
To do this we would like to find out more about what information you have received and the way in which you received it. We are thinking about information that covers all aspects of your child’s life including; leisure activities, schools, equipment, finances, childcare etc.
We also want to understand what you think contributes to making an Information, Advice and Support Service good and really helpful to you.
Finally we want to hear what the term impartial means to you? In feedback to the Government parent carers have made it clear that they want access to an Information, Advice and Support Service that is independent and impartial.
It is really important that this new service responds to the needs of local families and supports you and
your child to make positive and well informed decisions about the future.
In addition to this survey we are also planning a consultation event in October when there will be an opportunity to discuss the provision of impartial Information, Advice and Support further and to ask any questions that you might have.
Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and share your thoughts with us.
