"Holiday Shoeboxes of Love" and "Bookshelves of Love" Compassion Missions

The Ambassadors and Small Handers need your INPUT and SUGGESTIONS BY FRIDAY NOVEMBER 3rd!


Hello SHBHU Families, 

The Ambassadors and Small Handers need your input and suggestions for the Upcoming Holiday Compassion Missions!

SHBHU plans to decorate and pack shoeboxes/bags for the children at Dove Youth Development Center again this year for the 7th year in a row! However, unfortunately the cost of shipping has greatly increased over the years so the Ambassadors and Small Handers need input and suggestions to help offset the cost of that.

The plan is to ship bags instead of shoeboxes to lower the weight in order to lower cost. They also want to show compassion to as many people in need as possible this year. So this year, they would also like to decorate and pack shoeboxes of love for a Pediatric unit at a local hospital in the Triangle, women and children in need at the Esther House in Albemarle, NC and/or a local Angel Tree Project. Lastly, the Ambassador Teens are also leading a NEW compassion mission starting now and throughout 2024. They are building bookshelves FULL of love and loading them up with books for various organizations like Read and Feed, Habitat for Humanity, Gigi's Playhouse and the Esther House.  There are a few questions in the survey concerning that as well to help them in the planning phase of this mission. In order for them to best organize these Compassion Missions, they need to know a few things. So thank you for helping them out!
