Mission, Vision, & Motto:

Carnegie Writers, Inc. (CW) CW is a community-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for diverse writers and was inspired by The Carnegie Writers' Group, founded in August of 2013 by Oluwakemi Elufiede. The mission is to advance education, encourage collaboration, and provide resources for writing and literacy. The vision is to encourage children, adolescence and adults by providing positive and productive support in writing and literacy education based on personal goals.

Educate.Write.Collaborate:

We educate through workshops, tutorials, guest presentations, professional development, and conferences.
We Write through power writing, progressive writing, and publications. 
We Collaborate through group meetings, events, partnerships, and community-based programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Appointment, support and monitoring of executive staff; Clarify the mission of the organization; approve long term plans; oversee operations; ensure financial stability; assess board performance; oversees the administration and monitoring of grants; Conduct regular meetings; Review/Audit of financial records annually by an Independent Accountant; Create a budget, approval and ongoing monitoring; Review of financial statements on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly); Create of a system which is conducive to sound day-to day financial management of the organization, including good internal controls; Oversee requirements of federal grants programs are met and completed.
