Lassiter IE2 Stakeholder Survey Question Title * 1. For the 2015/2016 school year, the Cobb County School District will begin seeing changes as we transition to an Investing in Educational Excellence (IE2) system of flexibility to advance learning experiences for students. The IE2 contract will allow freedom from state education laws in exchange for increased accountability as individual schools strengthen opportunities for more personalized learning and set goals unique for their particular school. This shift has taken place as the state legislature passed a law a couple of years ago requiring every district in the state of Georgia to choose a an option for system flexibility to improve student achievement. For more information about IE2, please visit the Cobb County School District website. Here at Lassiter, we are excited about the educational possibilities for our students and teachers. We are looking to start on a small level to make sure the IE2 changes are meaningful and executable. We are requesting input from all of our stakeholders: students, teachers, parents, and community members so we can begin consolidating different ideas and deciding what we can implement now. Some ideas that have been discussed are as follows:Getting credit for our Academic Support & Enrichment ProgramGetting PE credit for ROTC, band, weight training, or athletics Having more zero period classes or 8th period classesAdding in different electives to Social Studies and Language ArtsBlending of coursesThank you for your input. We look forward to hearing your ideas!Mrs. CampbellQUESTION:What IE2 ideas do you have for us at Lassiter that would give the greatest chance to significantly improve the achievement of each of our students?
