This project was initially studied in 2013-2014. At the end of that process, the northern most alignment (Alt 3, Green) was identified as the “recommended” alternative. While some right-of-way was acquired, the project was soon paused for lack of funding.
In September 2022, the KYTC held another public meeting to seek input on the alternatives. Alt 3, Green, received the most support at that meeting.
On September 18, 2025, the FHWA approved the Environmental Assessment (EA), which recommends Alt 3 (Green) as the preferred alternative. That document is available for review tonight, or at KYTC District-4’s office, and on KYTC District 4’s website. The KYTC is seeking your input on that recommendation and the EA document.
