2018 NEC Semi-Finals Registration (Student)

This form is to be completed by State winners of the Economics Challenge, that will advance to the National Semi-Finals.

This year, the top eight highest scoring semi-finalist David Ricardo and Adam Smith teams will be invited to advance to the National Economics ChallengeSM Finals. CEE will pay for the teams’ lodging, food, and event expenses while in NYC the weekend of May 19-21, 2018, plus up to 50% of travel or the cap amount US by region, whichever is less. Once travel is booked by State Councils, Teachers ( School) and or parents, receipts and invoices can be submitted to CEE for reimbursement.

If you are under the age of 13 years old, your parent or guardian must sign the form to indicate that they have reviewed the student registration forms for accuracy and completion and return it to your coach to participate in the National Economics Challenge Semi-Finals.

Adam Smith Division: Students enrolled in any two semester macroeconomics or microeconomics course sequence or any course labeled as AP, IB, honors, gifted, or differentiated. If the student has previously participated in the David Ricardo division, he/she must register for the Adam Smith division in this year's competition (regardless of coursework).

David Ricardo Division: Any one economics course, introductory or general, combined macroeconomics and microeconomics course. Students who have never taken an economics course may participate in the David Ricardo division.
