* 3. Please confirm that you agree to abide by Island Synagogue's policy for attending in-person services during the COVID-19 emergency:
  • Only participate if afebrile (not running a fever) and asymptomatic for past 14 days
  • Wear a face covering that covers your mouth and nose
  • Bring your own face mask, siddur, and (if applicable) tallit and tefillin.
  • Practice “6-Feet” Social Distancing
  • Maintain diligent hand hygiene, including "Purell in Purell out"
  • NOT participate if exposed to someone with COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days
  • NOT participate if you have traveled out-of-state within the past 14 days
  • NOT participate if you have socialized indoors with people outside of your immediate family in the past 14 days
  • Promptly contact your physician if you develop any of the following symptoms and ask if you can be tested for COVID-19:
    • Fever or chills
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • Fatigue
    • Muscle or body aches
    • Headache (if different than one’s typical headache)
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Sore throat
    • Congestion or runny nose (if different from one’s usual allergy symptoms)
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Diarrhea
  • Remain isolated at home if you develop COVID-19 symptoms unless you are tested and cleared by your physician, and not return to in-person services until ALL the following conditions are met:
    • 3 days with NO fever (while not taking any medication that reduces your temperature);
    • Symptoms improved; and
    • 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.
  • Children under bar/bat mitzvah age may not attend.
  • All attendees are to remain in their seats for the duration of services (with the exception of restroom use.)
  • Older adults (65 years and older) and people who have underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness, and thus are discouraged from participating in in-person services without approval from both their physician and rabbi.
  • Island Synagogue will actively cooperate with public health authorities. Island Synagogue will provide contact tracing information if asked by appropriate authorities, and will coordinate other aspects of our COVID-19 policy according to official guidelines, regulations and recommendations.
  • Island Synagogue will continue to periodically update these guidelines consistent with Public Health recommendations.
