Routine Submission Overview

Thank you for your interest in performing in the annual Phoenix Dance Studio Family Aerial Show!

This year the show will be animal themed. You may be as creative as you like. It can be obvious- for example, the Kids Aerial class is performing to songs from The Lion King- or you can be more subtle in your creativity. You do not have to use Disney or cartoon songs, or dress up in animal or cartoon costumes. Use your imagination and find your inner beast or beauty.

Before you continue this survey, please go over the guidelines and expectations below.

Deadlines:
In order to considered for performance in the show there are a number of deadlines that will need to be met. Not meeting any of these deadlines is grounds for removal from consideration.

February 1, 2022 Submission of a complete rough first "draft" of your routine (video file or in-person). You will also be required to let us know which of the showings you can and will plan on performing in. (More information on showing dates, times, and specs below.)

Expectations:

The Phoenix Dance Studio Halloween Show is currently scheduled for Saturday March 19, 2022.

Exact times are TBD however there will be 2 afternoon showings. Please read the following carefully:
  • You do not have to be available for both showings if you are not able or interested in doing so. (One of the deadlines above includes when you need to let us know which show(s) you plan to perform in).
  • Both shows will be family-friendly. This means that your routine must be accessible and appropriate to people under the age of 18 in terms of violence, nudity, and content.
  • Please consider audience and energy levels. Fun, upbeat, or high energy routines are always appreciated!
  • If you have any questions about these guidelines, don't hesitate to ask Erica or Sam at erica@thephoenixdancestudio.com
  • Pending public health concerns (the COVID pandemic) there will be a dress rehearsal on Thursday 3/17/22 at 6pm.
  • All routines are subject to approval and/or cancellation at any time including and leading up to the date of performance.
  • If your routine is approved for performance, we expect you to take that as a serious commitment to the studio and to the show. If you decide, for any reason, not to complete or perform your routine please communicate that with Erica immediately (erica@thephoenixdancestudio.com) and know this could impact your future participation in shows. However, please don't hesitate to reach out for help, private lessons, and guidance if you are looking for more support to get your routine show-ready!
