Welcome to the 2020 BATSICCHA Cross-Sector Housing Survey

BATSICCHA are in the process of completing tenant and community consultations pertaining to the growth and development of current and future services; and are now seeking to undertake a broad engagement to the social services sector; to receive feedback and input from services and providers regarding current housing needs and priorities; as well as pertaining to BATSICCHA’s 10year Economic Development targets; and opportunities for potential shared efficiencies and collaboration.

BATSICCHA’s 10year Economic Development targets include to:
1.     Grow and diversify the supply of safe, accessible and affordable housing across the housing continuum
2.     Maximise employment, training and procurement opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and businesses
3.     Support community housing tenants to become economically empowered and transition to the private rental or home ownership markets

Achieving these targets necessitates cross-industry and sector collaborations / relationships; to achieve shared efficiencies; and improved outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Other aspects to BATSICCHA’s implementation plan for its 10year targets also outline opportunities and requirements for partnership and engagement.

This survey in particular forms part of our necessary steps to consult to key service providers, as part of the scoping and development of the BATSICCHA Case Management and Coordination Model – that will ultimately be delivered as a complementary adjunct to our routine community housing services.

The Cross-Sector Housing Survey provides a key first step in beginning to receive:

i)               feedback from other front-line providers about regional needs and priorities pertaining to housing; and
ii)              input around BATSICCHA’s planned targets and strategies – including potential willingness and flagged opportunities for collaboration.

This is an online survey comprising a mix of quantitative and qualitative questions for completion.

It is up to your organisation whether you choose to be identifiable or remain anonymous.

The structure of the survey follows the logic / rationale for the project, comprising the following main sections:

-       A de-deidentified ‘background’ section – aiming to obtain basic contextual information about your service / organisation
-       A dedicated section regarding Brisbane Greater Region housing need, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander housing needs and priorities specifically
-       A section divided into three components, seeking feedback and input regarding BATSICCHA’s three economic development targets / priorities

It is noteworthy too that in light of recent events and the COVID-19 pandemic, a dedicated section has also been prepared regarding the Carona Virus; in particular, seeking feedback around the virus' impacts and implications for coordinated social and human service delivery.

The survey should take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete. The close date for responses is now Friday 14 August 2020.

All information collected as part of this project will be stored securely and only be accessible by the project key personnel.
