Welcome

Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal to present at Q Shelter's housing and homelessness conference 2017.

The conference will be a two day event featuring a range of keynote speakers, panels, and breakout sessions.

The theme of the conference this year is - 'The next decade: Delivering housing and homelessness services for Queenslanders'

We believe this theme is ideal for our annual conference this year with the Queensland Government set to release their much-anticipated new housing strategy. We want to see exciting ideas, programs, research, and examples of innovation that highlight how housing services can be best delivered for people in need across Queensland.

Examples of content that would be ideal for this conference could include, but are not limited to:

-  innovative housing and support programs;

-  examples of successful housing models;

- success in delivering housing to specific cohorts;

- ideas for development of new social, affordable, and disability housing;

- big ideas for the future of housing in Queensland

- Examples/ideas from innovative homelessness service provision

- Ideas about alternative, client driven early intervention tenancy support programs

- Examples of strategic partnerships between indigenous and non-indigenous housing and homelessness support organisations

- Examples of how to support people at risk of homelessness in remote towns and communities

- examples of service integration; and

- research or international studies relevant to Queensland’s housing and homelessness sector

Opportunities to present at Q Shelter’s conference are not limited to the housing and homelessness sector, and we encourage applicants from a range of industries to submit abstracts for consideration.

Q Shelter will review these submissions and advise applicants as soon as possible.

Please submit your application by no later than COB Friday 24 February.

Thank you again for your interest.
