1. Shrewsbury Town Council is proposing to invest in enhanced play provision for young people at the west of Shrewsbury by creating a brand new BMX Pump track at the centre of Shorncliffe Recreation Ground.

Shrewsbury Town Council owns 8 bike track sites across Shrewsbury, 4 of which have now been upgraded to pump tracks which allow for all year use and can be enjoyed by those on skateboards and scooters as well as bikes.

This proposal would replace the existing bike track at the front of the park which is much shorter than the other bike tracks in Shrewsbury.

3. Shrewsbury Town Council are proposing to invest in a inclusive play area at Shorncliffe Recreation Ground where local children from age 3 upwards can play, explore and have fun.

Shrewsbury Town Council look after 57 play areas across Shrewsbury ensuring that inclusive play is accessible to local residents with young families. The nearest play area to Shorncliffe Recreation Ground is 0.5 miles away and 12 minutes walk from the park.

Shrewsbury Town Council recognises that in the west of the town there is a lack of play areas for young families and investing in a play area at Shorncliffe Recreation Ground can give provide a better place to play, meet and enjoy the outdoors.

If there is support for these proposals, Shrewsbury Town Council would look to engage with the local schools so that young people can have their say on how a new pump track and play area could look.
