Thank you for your interest in the Residential Irrigation Rebate Program. The 2020 – 2021 edition has been a huge success and we are approaching our budget cap much sooner than anticipated. In order to avoid evaluating more irrigation systems than we can safely rebate, any application received April 13th, 2021, or after will be added to a waiting list. What does this mean?

Currently there are 60 applicants in the “installation process.” The trend is that 50% of these will drop out. When an applicant drops out, the next applicant in line on the waiting list will be contacted to coordinate the initial system evaluation and begin the process.

Factors to consider:

1.     If you are in a rush to upgrade your system you may want to reconsider applying. The waiting period between when you apply to when the system can be evaluated may be several weeks to a month.

2.     If you apply knowing your system is in extreme disrepair, consider using the waiting period to perform light maintenance. A system that fails the program “fitness test” during the initial system evaluation goes to the end of the applicant waiting list. Give yourself the best chance to pass the first time.

3.     The “installation process” affords applicants 60 days to complete the irrigation system upgrade. If you are preparing to travel or currently completing home renovation and you know 60 days is not enough time before you can prioritize the irrigation system, consider applying at later date so others ready to upgrade may apply.

This application should only take 2 to 3 minutes to complete.

Rebate option qualification is based on your existing system and passing a system fitness test

Please note: irrigation upgrades completed prior to applying are not eligible for a rebate. NIS staff must evaluate a system before upgrades can be initiated. All irrigation upgrades must be performed by a licensed irrigation vendor.
