Survey Introduction

Has becoming an HIM educator ever crossed your mind, but you think “I don’t know how to teach” and therefore put the idea out of your mind? Well, very few HIM educators started that phase of their career with training as a teacher. Many who did become HIM practitioners as well as educators learned by doing.

Please take a moment to answer the following questions. Most likely you do have the skills necessary to become an educator, either part- or full-time.

If you answer YES to 5 or more of these questions, being an educator just might be right for you. We hope you will think seriously about giving teaching a try – perhaps even as an adjunct instructor.

Please join us at the AHIMA Convention in San Diego on Tuesday, September 30th from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. where we will hold a session, "I Want to Teach – Next Steps for HIM Professionals", where HIM practitioners turned HIM educators will share their journey to becoming an educator and answer your questions about next steps.
