Conference Information
The 2017 Annual Conference will be held June 27th and 28th at the Conference Center at OCLC in Dublin, OH. For additional information about the conference, please visit our website at www.oaesv.org/conference.

Conference Theme
The theme of this year's conference is mobilizing voices in our work. The success of our movement to eliminate sexual and intimate partner violence depends on the purposeful engagement of youth and of groups and communities that have been largely excluded from this work. We welcome and encourage workshops that provide practical tools and innovative, “next level” approaches mobilizing partners and allies in our work, with emphasis on youth engagement.

Workshop Topics & Characteristics
Each workshop will be 90 minutes in length.

We welcome workshop proposals that demonstrate the following characteristics:
1. Supportive of the overall conference theme
2. Addressing innovative or advanced concepts related to theory and/or practice
3. Inclusive of diverse audiences, communities, and perspectives
4. Promoting community collaboration and partnerships
5. Reflective of the needs of adult learners (interactive workshop, hands-on activities, skills based, etc.)
6. Include an interactive activity requiring active participation of attendees

Additionally, we are interested in workshop proposals that address these specific topics/issues:
- Effectively engaging parents, teachers, and school administrators
- Institutional policies and practices that effectively confront racism, sexism, sexual and intimate partner violence within K-12 schools
- Connecting with allied social justice efforts
- Establishing and managing effective youth-led peer prevention or advocacy groups
- Skills for effectively navigating difficult conversations and situations
- Authentic, activity-based self-care that celebrates diversity and inclusion
