* 7. Most Union Contracts contain Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) for each year the contract is in effect. The purpose of negotiating a cost of living increase every year is to insure that our wages keep up with inflation. An example of COLA in the American Airlines’ flight attendant Contract shown below.
