1.Climate change is real; it affects severe weather, drought, flooding, wildfire, etc., and poses a threat to life on earth, particularly human life.(Required.)
2.Human activities (industrial, agricultural, consumptive) have had a predominant impact on the changes being experienced in the climate.(Required.)
3.The environmental impacts of climate change have disproportionately affected the poorer populations of this country and the world.(Required.)
4.Technological solutions to environmental issues must respect the rights of people and cultures around the world, especially the poor.(Required.)
5.The health of the environment and human communities should be top considerations of both business and government.(Required.)
6.Our relationship with God extends to our care for the poor and for the earth.(Required.)

8.Understanding of human beings “having dominion” (Gn 1:28) must be interpreted in light of God’s declaring all the goods of creation “very good” (Gn 1:31), the command for humans to “till it and keep it” (Gn 2:15), and the truth that “the earth is the Lord’s” (Ps 24:1) among countless other scripture verses highlighting care for creation or ecology.(Required.)
