Overview & Presenter Job Description

Program Description:
Regional Conferences are two-day professional development opportunities for nonprofit leaders to increase their skills and knowledge, network with colleagues, and find ways to collaborate to increase the impact of their nonprofit and community.

The program is divided into two days focusing on Leadership and Fundraising topics. These sessions are intended to be in-depth and hands-on workshops at an intermediate to advanced level.

Location & Dates:
We will be in three rotating locations across the state of Idaho (excluding Boise) in March of each year. Exact dates & locations TBD.

Day 1: Leadership

Target Audience:
Nonprofit Executive Directors and CEOs looking for continuing education. Lower level leaders looking to build their skills and network. The majority nonprofits in Idaho are small with less than 20 staff, and many only have one paid staff—the Executive Director.

Agenda:
  • 8:30-4pm: Four 90-minute sessions with breaks and a non-working lunch in between
  • 4pm: Networking Happy Hour

Day 2: Fundraising

Target Audience:
Development Directors looking to refine and improve their skills and processes. Fundraising staff at any level looking for professional development opportunities. The majority nonprofits in Idaho are small with less $1M in annual revenue, and many are lucky to have one dedicated development staff.

Agenda:
  • 8:30-2:30pm: Three 90-minute sessions with breaks and a non-working lunch in between
  • 2:45pm: Local Funders Panel

  • Getting organized with Annual Plans
  • Segmenting donors
  • Grantwriting
  • Storytelling / Persuasive writing

Presenter Job Descriptions

Positions:
  • Full-Day Presenter
    Presenters will work with attendees for a full-day of lessons and activities focusing on building attendee leadership skills, fundraising techniques, and/or addressing challenges impacting the nonprofit sector today.
  • Single Session Presenter
    Presenters will lead up to two 90-minute workshops focusing on building attendee leadership skills, fundraising techniques, and/or addressing challenges impacting the nonprofit sector today.
  • NOTE: Priority will be given to Full-Day Presenter submissions
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of the nonprofit sector and challenges faced by nonprofit leaders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Goals & Objectives:
  • Participants will leave the program feeling empowered and with tangible ideas and techniques to bring back to their organizations.
  • Workshops should include:
    • Templates, tools, and resources
    • Experiential or immersive exercises
    • Answering questions using collaborative techniques
Compensation:
  • $250 per 90-minute workshop
  • $500 per half day commitment
  • $1,000 per full day commitment
  • Payment will be delivered within 30 days of the end of the program.
