April 30 - May 6 Energy and Buildings

Greetings!

The Village of Riverside is using a series of surveys to further analyze ideas generated by our own community members.

This week's topic: Energy and Buildings

These actions need more planning before they are adopted or dismissed by the Riverside community (government, schools, organizations, businesses and individuals).

The seven concepts below are summaries of actions our community can take to maintain and improve quality of life over the next decade and beyond.

For each of the 7 questions, please tell us on a 1-5 scale "How likely would you be to support this?"
1.Encouraging use of electric landscaping equipment by businesses, residents, and contractors.

2.Promotion of residential and commercial interior design and building standards that address indoor air quality and improved energy and water efficiency. These may include rebates and other cost-saving measures.

3.Promotion of free and low-cost energy audits for residential and commercial properties. (An energy audit is a voluntary test for buildings that can find places leaking heat or cooled air and makes other recommendations to improve indoor comfort.)

6.Evaluation of building and energy codes and / or opting into new state-driven regulations that in the long-term could reduce intensive uses of non-renewable resources or hazardous materials, and could improve energy and water efficiencies.
