Application Information & Instructions

The Grinnell United Way advances the common good in Grinnell by enhancing three key building blocks: education, financial stability, & health. These efforts are focused on children, seniors, women, and all people in need. We strive to improve these people’s lives by dealing with the underlying causes of problems. LIVE UNITED is a call to action for everyone to become a part of the change.

Because United Way of Grinnell is managed by a volunteer board committed to advancing its mission, over 98% of all funds raised go directly to our partner agencies to use for services in our immediate community. Last year the Grinnell United Way granted over $100,000 to 13 different local agencies.

Note: Funding may only be used for expenses incurred during the funding year -- 1/2 for the first six months of the funding period (January -June 2019) and 1/2 for the second six months of the funding period (July-December 2019). Should an agency close prior to funding being issued, the organization is not eligible to receive any disbursements.

 Funding Application Instructions:

Submissions Due: Saturday, June 1, 2019

Any application that is incomplete or received after the deadline may be ineligible to receive funds.

Who Qualifies to Apply: Any 501c3 organization that provides services to individuals in the greater Grinnell area.

Needed for Upload: You will be prompted to send additional documentation to info@grinnellunitedway.org including Most recent income & expense statement and most recent operating budget detail - both showing Grinnell-specific information, as well as documentation of your organization's 501c3 status. Each funded agency may be asked to attend a United Way of Grinnell Board meeting over the course of the year. At this Board meeting the agency will provide an update as to what their agency is doing, what their needs are, and how the funds provided by United Way were used.
