Background
UpDayton was founded with the mission to attract and retain young talent in the region, addressing the "brain drain" that the Dayton area was experiencing. This was to be accomplished by engaging volunteers in projects to create a Dayton that they wanted to call home. Beginning projects included murals, street signage and other beatification efforts/amenities. Within the last five years, the focus of the projects has shifted to making a difference in the lives of the region's residents (e.g. The Longest Table, Participatory Defense, etc.).

With that shift in mind, UpDayton has entered into a strategic planning period to evaluate the organization's place in the community.
