The purpose of this research project is examine the professional, social, and artistic consequences of neurological disease on the life and career of a musician. This is a research project being conducted by an independent researcher for future publication in a music medicine journal and presentation at a conference. You are invited to participate in this research project because you are a musician (professional, semi-professional, or student) who has a neurological disease that impacts your ability to play music or practice your profession as a musician.
Your participation in this research study is voluntary. You may choose not to participate. If you decide to participate in this research survey, you may withdraw at any time.
The procedure involves filling out an online survey that will take approximately 30-45 minutes. Your responses will be confidential and we do not collect identifying information such as your name, email address or IP address, unless you specifically agree to provide your name and email address (see question #6). There are several questions in this survey, please fill them out as thoroughly as possible. As a qualitative and exploratory research study, many topics will be addressed: incl. medical, psychological, social, organizational/institutional. Please be as detailed and comprehensive as possible.
Your information will be kept confidential. All data is stored in a password protected electronic format. The results of this study will be used for scholarly purposes only.
