In 2018, the Terre Haute Chamber, along with other partners, published the See You in Terre Haute Community Plan. This plan outlined strategic growth strategies for the next 5 years, in the hopes of accelerating the Terre Haute Community forward and halting the current population decline.
Expanding on the existing Community Plan, the City of Terre Haute and Vigo County are currently working on an addendum that assesses the advancements made in the past five years and reevaluates the goals for our future direction.
This process is made possible thanks to the Lilly Endowment Inc.’s GIFT VIII program through the Wabash Valley Community Foundation. The Community Planning Task Force, under the direction of the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Terre Haute and Vigo County, is working with all parties to utilize funds from this planning grant.
This process will provide community leaders with a strategic vision including a list of priorities for the future as we seek to create collaboration amongst government, nonprofits, business organizations, the private sector and the overall citizenry to compete at the highest level.
Who Should Complete the Survey
The Community Plan Addendum should reflect the ideas and opinions of the community's residents. Every resident is invited to complete this survey. For the purposes of this survey, a resident is defined as an individual having a primary residence mailing address in Terre Haute/Vigo County.
All survey responses will remain anonymous. No personal identifying information is asked of you other than for demographic purposes. Demographic answers will not be attached to the rest of your answers and are only utilized to summarize the average population of survey respondents.
